While talking about investments, so many people focus first and foremost on the fees they pay or will pay if they buy a certain investment. They argue that an investment with the lowest fees is simply the best. The question, however, remains, For whom?
There is so much more to choosing correct investments for your portfolio than simply the fees. Shocking but the fees are simply the cost of doing business, and they should be the LAST consideration when evaluating an investment. There are things that are so much more important like your investment and life goals, needs, risk tolerance, and ability to carry risk, time horizon, strategic and tactical asset allocation, thinking about what you already have in your portfolio and how adding a certain investment will affect it.
Please think about all these things first before you even decide to look up fees. Also, remember you get what you pay for, and the cheapest option is not always the best. I would even go as far as saying that the cheapest option is very often not the best option at all.
Think before you act and invest wisely.
